Building on an island is challenging. This article describes how Houses and Barns built two traditional timber frames, designed as art studios, on a remote Maine island. The story also highlights the beautiful art created by the island’s owners. Looking back on this construction project reminds us not only of the heart and soul our team puts into each of our projects, but also of the interesting challenges we tackle in this business. We are thankful to Maine Boats Homes & Harbors for sharing this story and Jeff Roberts for capturing the essence of these timber framed art studios.
