Barn to Gallery Transformation

Transforming this old timber frame barn to gallery space was a unique and enjoyable project for our company. After years of travelling for world-class, big game hunting and guided safari trips, our client requested us to design a space to honor the many trophies he had collected.   A 45’x75’ 1880’s center aisle hay barn was the backdrop for the two galleries we designed and constructed inside the vast, under-utilized barn space.  The finished climate controlled space includes an office, exercise room, and two impressive galleries on each side of the center aisle.  From the exterior, the barn maintains its traditional appeal and upon entering, the original timber frame is still clearly visible and intact.  With some engineering, artistic lighting and a modern design slant, the two parallel galleries, connected by a custom metal catwalk, accomplished the owner’s mission.
