26′ x 52′ with an 9′ x 26′ porch

When deciding to build a barn next to their new outdoor swimming pool, the homeowners knew they wanted an authentic Maine timber frame barn. Design features of the barn include a covered poolside porch, a spacious interior for vehicle parking, a workbench, mechanical room and changing rooms.  An outdoor shower completed the owners’ checkbox.

While the front maintains a perfectly proportional profile on the property, two additional 13’ bays expand the building’s length from a traditional two bay barn.  French doors from the sunny indoor gathering area, open onto the blue stone patio where friends and family hang out next to the pool that also has a view of the ocean beyond. With a laundry room, shower room, changing room, and bathroom ready for use, there is plenty of privacy and a convenient way to dry all those towels and bathing suits.
