We do more than just houses and barns! One of our most memorable special projects was the Portland Public Market. We built the massive post and beam frame in our shop in Freeport using traditional mortise and tenon joinery. A dozen or so timber framers worked over a period of about four months to erect it.
Our team also enjoys working with clients to get maximum functionality out of their new spaces. The custom timber frame design above with the periwinkle blue door houses a second floor guest room with a balcony as well as a full garage, woodworking shop, and pottery studio on the first floor. Restoring old barns to their natural beauty is another one of our specialties.
Would you believe the gray barn with the grand rosette window pictured above has a timber frame that is well over 200 years old? It was on the verge of collapse when it was re-discovered in a grassy meadow by two Mainers with a love of nostalgia.
