A Birds-eye View of Our Penobscot Bay Barn Project
February 25, 2010

It’s not everyday we get to see our projects from the air. What a treat! As you can see from the progress photos our Houses & Barns by John Libby crew is hard at work in the cold, salty air raising the timber frame of our barn project in Penobscot Bay. The 40’ x 60’ timber framed barn will have a 16’ x 50’ conventionally framed shed attached. The stone veneer wall is a beautiful addition to the barn, giving it an historic appeal. An 8’x 8’ weather-tight cupola will be added. There is always something special about the coast of Maine, even in the winter.

Progress Continues on the Cumberland Horse Barn
February 11, 2010

We’re swinging into the new year at Houses and Barns by John Libby and have made good progress with our Cumberland, Maine horse barn that we started in October. As you can see from the pictures this barn is part timber frame and conventional frame. The sheathing and roof were completed in November, shingles went on in December. The interior finishes are being worked on including stall partitions, plumbing, heating and electrical. The barn door that you see our crew loading onto the Mitsubishi truck is crafted by our own guys at the shop with a mahogany frame and pine sheathing. This will add a beautiful touch to the barn.
