Great Island Boat Yard Celebrates the Completion of Their New Timber Frame Building
August 10, 2009

On July 25, Great Island Boat Yard staff and guests joined together to celebrate the completion of their new timber frame office built by Houses and Barns by John Libby. Along with delicious beverages and hors d’oeuvres, guests at the Great Island Boat Yard open house were treated to music by Pan Fried Steel and a long set by country/folk singer Jonathan Edwards. Jonathan Edwards is best known for the 70’s hit single Sunshine (Go Away Today). The weather cooperated and it was a pleasant evening for the event.

The interior of the timber frame building is still open, but will soon have walls constructed to make individual offices for the Great Island staff. Not all timber frame and construction projects are celebrated in such a grand fashion, but each one that is completed gives the craftsmen at Houses and Barns by John Libby many good memories. Congratulations to the folks at Great Island!
